"Ketupat mini rice cube" is a ready-to-cook convenience version of the traditional Malay dish, ketupat. Instead of being hand-woven in palm leaves, these are pre-portioned packets of rice that are boiled, steamed, or heated to create a soft, sticky rice cube to be served with dishes like rendang or satay.

  • Description:

It is a small, pre-packaged rice cake that is soft and glutinous, designed for easy preparation.

  • Preparation:

The rice cubes are cooked by boiling the sealed bags in water for about 60 to 90 minutes.

  • Traditional vs. modern:

This product is a convenient alternative to traditional ketupat, which is made by hand-wrapping rice in woven palm or coconut leaves and boiling for hours.

  • Usage:

It is served with traditional dishes like rendang (a spicy meat dish), satay, or used in other soups and curries like lontong or soto.
