1*400g dried laksa noodles, 2*200g Hola asam laksa paste and 1*180g petis udang (hae kor)

One packet of dried laksa noodles yield 950g to 1kg of laksa noodles after boiled.

Soak dried noodles in cold water overnight. Drain water and boil noodles for 10 to 20 mins. Garnish with pineapples, mint leaves, torch ginger flower and shredded cucumber. Serve one bowl of laksa with half tablespoon of petis udang.

Boil 2 Liters of  water in a pot. Add 2 packets of laksa paste. Stir to dissolve. Add canned sardine or mackerel without oil/brine. Pour onto bowls of laksa noodles garnished with mint leaves, cucumber, pineapple strips, sliced onions and sliced chillies. Sourness can be masked with one tablespoon of prawn paste (petis udang) per bowl.

Hola asam laksa ingredients: Fresh fish, lemongrass, onions, kesum leaves, torch ginger flower, chili, lemon juice, shrimp paste, sugar and salt.
Petis udang ingredients: Wheat starch, sugar, prawn extract, salt and permitted food preservative (E211)
